Who Am I?
Hello. I'd like to introduce myself and tell you why I write this series of on- and off-beat illustrated posts.. I'm an artist/painter, traveller, lifespan developmental psychologist, and sometimes published writer who is interested in ideas, art, world culture, and human interaction.
Most of the time, my home and working studio are on Saturna Island: a tiny stretch of land in Canada's Salish Sea ... waters that connect with the San Juan Islands off Washington State. My life and work here leave me inspired and productive, but somewhat isolated. So, meaningful communication becomes even more important now than when I lived and worked in big cities.
Why I Write Creative Life News?
I write the Creative Life news because life is short and living it creatively has value.
I like writing and sharing interests with some wit, intelligence, and good humour.
Creative Life travels to different places of interest when I have the chance live, work in, and explore different parts of the world.
Because I now live and work on a small and relatively remote island and want to connect with the wider world... and you!
Why Read Creative Life News?
This is why I think you should read it:
Living a creative life is important, as is nurturing creativity in oneself and others
Creative life is open-ended and occurs wherever and whenever you decide to spark it.
It includes sights and insights, ideas and things that catch the eye, open the mind, connect hearts, and engage creative acts.
What interests me may interest you: my interests are diverse, exploratory, and humane.
There is so much of quality to see, learn, do, and share.
It enriches us all to do so.
It can be fun, entertaining, and informative.

What Creative Life News is About
The illustrated posts in Creative Life News are diverse and wide-ranging. Creative adventures are featured: such as exploring quaint villages in France and Italy—a painter's dream but also a celebration of daily life (markets, food, local events and sights). Cultural life and artistic traditions are highlighted from around around the globe. Illustrated essays are written to appeal to creative minds. Eclectic interests and ideas, foods, personal experiences, odd museums, sights and insights are distilled with some wit and good humour.
