Utamaro Bird, a 16"x 20" framed drawing/painting  on  archival paper from the artist's new series of  an imaginary cross-species of anthropomorphic birds. Several works in this series pay homage to  famous artists by re-visioning their style in this novel context.  The current work  for example, pays homage to Utamaro, a Japanese artist from the 18th C celebrated for his graceful depictions of  women of the "floating world."
