A River Runs Through It

Walking within the walls of the old city of Lecce, we come to the Faggiano family's private house, perhaps not as fancy on its exterior as some others in this gracious Italian city. But beneath this house, while they were digging to repair the sewage pipes, the Faggianos found multiply layered strata of architecture and artifacts from pre-historic ,through ancient Roman and Byzantine times, and housing the Knights Templar.
